Volunteer & Conservation Projects | TEFL Courses

1. i-to-i

Best For: Volunteer and conservation projects in several countries in South America including Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil and Argentina. Short weekend or online TEFL courses.

Note: These more basic TEFL courses are suitable for getting your skills up to scratch, but we would recommend a more extensive course if you are going to be seeking paid employment (see below for details).
To really enjoy a rewarding and memorable trip to South America, why not take part in a volunteer project? It is a great way to start a gap year as you will get to know more about local cultures and traditions, as well as meeting a lot of like minded people. We strongly suggest you use one of our recommend companies, as they are reputable organisations, and will ensure your accommodation and volunteer program is everything you'd expect it to be. Whilst there are an increasing number of 'free' volunteer programs out there, you'll have to pay for and arrange your own accommodation and food. So for a lot more hassle you won't end up paying much less in the long run, plus there won't be the level of support for you, should you need it.

Also if you are going out to South America for a paid teaching placement, you will need to have a full TEFL qualification. For a volunteer program, a shorter TEFL course, or even an online TEFL course would be a great confidence booster.

2. World TEFL School

Best For: Full TEFL courses for those seeking paid teaching work

Can do the actually TEFL course close to home or in one of several locations throughout South America, including Cusco, Santiago, Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro. They will then help you seek employment as quickly as possible.
